I Quit The iPhone by Michael Arrington

Friday, July 31st, 2009 | Iphone with 1 Comment

I have loved the iPhone, but now I am quitting the iPhone.

This is not an easy decision.

I was there in January 2007 when it was announced and I bought the first iPhone as soon as it was available. I happily bought the iPhone 3G a year later. I’ve proudly yelled “I Am A Member Of The Cult Of iPhone.” I’ve been an unabashed cheerleader for the device to all who’ll listen. And I’ve scoffed at developers who said they’d abandon the platform.

But I’m not going to upgrade to the iPhone 3GS. Instead, I’m abandoning the iPhone and AT&T. I will grudgingly pay the $175 AT&T termination...

LG’s stylish new BL40 phone launch would not be complete without an over the top ad. The 4-inch, 800 pixel wide display is one of the main selling points here, and if that’s not enough for you, we hear you can even use it to output full HD video to a TV.

Apple Removes all Google Voice Apps for iPhone from iTunes App Store

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 | Iphone, Software with 1 Comment

google_voice_reject.jpg

Apple has pulled all Google’s Voice apps from App store at the request of AT&T. why AT&T would ban Google Voice, Skype and SlingBox on the iPhone and allow them on BlackBerry.

It all started with Sean Kovacs’ GV Mobile client, which originally became available last week (according to Kovacs after being approved by Apple VP Phil Schiller himself), being yanked from the App Store for allegedly duplicating the iPhone’s calling and text messaging features. When Apple contacted Kovacs, no specifics were given on what needs to be changed to get his app back into the store and Kovacs claims Apple refused to send an e-mail to confirm that GV Mobile was yanked.

Disabling EDGE on iPhone v3.0

Monday, July 27th, 2009 | Iphone with No Comments »

So here is a new tip from thebigboss on Disabling EDGE on iPhone v3.0, i also have same issu while using OS 3 “Disabling EDGE on iPhone v3.0has been very hard. It’s still not certain, but after some testing and user reported success (a big thank you to Jorge Rendon!). The main reason the EDGE toggle in SBSettings and BossPrefs hasnt been updated is because I have not known what it takes exactly to disable EDGE on 3.0. The problem is that the OS reenables it. If you “mess up” your APN, the OS goes crazy trying to enable it draining your battery in about 90 minutes from full charge. So that’s not the way either. These steps do seem to work, however. Give them a try. If the reports are mostly positive, I will integrate this into the EDGE toggle.

1) Open settings app and disable Notifications. These appear directly under carrier,...

OEMs Pick Up Windows 7 RTM Code Today in Redmond

Saturday, July 25th, 2009 | Software with No Comments »

Microsoft gave over that long-anticipated Windows 7 RTM code to its favorite OEM partners, including HP, Toshiba, Lenovo, ASUS , Acer, Dell, Sony and Fujitsu-Siemens. In the past when a Windows release reaches RTM, we have traditionally given some/selected OEMs the opportunity to come to Redmond and pick up the RTM code personally. I thought it would be neat to showcase these OEMs that came to campus today as the RTM code is handed off to them to begin preparing for General Availability (GA) on October 22, 2009!
